Doug Hafer Invited to Speak at 52nd Annual Ernest E. Smith Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Institute

Doug Hafer had the distinct honor of speaking at the 52nd Annual Ernest E. Smith Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Institute, considered the definitive course for attorneys and corporate lawyers seeking essential legal updates and insights into emerging trends in the oil and gas industry.

Doug’s presentation, “ Lessons Learned on Contract Construction Disputes,” offered guidance for drafting and interpreting oil and gas leases based on recent Texas Supreme Court decisions.

The institute was presented in Houston by The University of Texas School of Law and the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and featured esteemed faculty from across Texas.

We’re proud to have Doug represent the firm in conversations that matter in the oil and gas industry.

Condemnation – Know Your Rights

Condemnation – Know Your Rights

Would you know how to handle a condemnation action involving your home, business, or land?

Condemnation is the process where certain governmental or utility entities take private property for public use, such as for major power or gas lines, utilities, road construction, drainage projects, or redevelopment. The government or other authorized entity exercises its power of eminent domain, and the owner is entitled to recover guaranteed “just compensation” for the property that is taken, whether or not the owner wants to sell. If a governmental entity has approached you about acquiring your property—commercial, residential, or unimproved land—we can help you navigate this. Know your rights before moving forward or signing anything.

With vast knowledge and experience, our team stands ready to help. Since there may be time‑sensitive deadlines, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
