A Year of Celebration: Arlington 150 & America 250

Jun 17, 2026

This year, Arlington proudly celebrates its 150th anniversary while joining the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th birthday. It is a time of patriotism, pride, and reflection.

Curnutt & Hafer’s downtown offices at 301 and 311 West Abram Street are situated in the heart of Arlington’s historical roots in the original footprint of the city, which began as half a square mile area. What would later become “America’s Dream City” was established in July of 1876, when the Texas & Pacific Railroad Engine No. 20 pulled into the newly named town of Arlington.

In response to a water crisis caused by increased farming needs in the area, the city drilled the famous Mineral Well at the intersection of Center and Main Streets, putting Arlington on the map as a medicinal bath-house destination. Fast forward to the booming mid-1900’s, when Midway Savings Association opened its doors at what is now our firm’s “311” building on West Abram.

Today, commemorative banners line downtown just outside our doors, and we could not be more proud to be located in the midst of such rich history.
